The Xbox Controller S: Old School Gaming at Your Fingertips

;-)
The Xbox 360 is one of the most popular gaming consoles in the world today. Made by Microsoft, it keeps people of all ages hooked to the TV screen for hours at a time. Depending on your point of view, that may or may not be a good thing but there are some people out there that prefer a little old school gaming instead of the hi-tech experience the Xbox 360 brings. The original Xbox is still a huge favorite despite its successor, and one of the reasons for that lies in the Xbox controller S.

Xbox Controller S

The Xbox controller S was not the very first controller that was released for the console. Instead, it was a new and improved version of the original and it absolutely blew gamers away at the time. The Xbox controller S was introduced as a wired controller with six analogue buttons, two pressure point triggers, one eight-way directional pad, vibration feedback, 256 sensitivity levels and two slots for memory card expansion. It was also smaller than the original and so it was easier to handle. This, according to the diehard fans of Xbox, changed the gaming experience forever because it enabled gamers to interact far more with the console than had previously been possible. In effect, the Xbox controller S took all of the positives of the original game pad and improved all the negatives.

The Xbox controller S was actually designed to make all of the functions within a game really accessible to the gamer playing at the time. It was easy to hold, had everything within easy reach and made the analogue buttons and directional pad really easy to use. As long as it was plugged into the console it worked so there was none of the faults associated with modern controllers spoiling your game. Even better, the Xbox controller S was affordable so you could afford to have a few at home so your friends could crowd round the console too.

Xbox Controller S

The Xbox controller S is a little outdated today as a result of the wireless technology that both the Microsoft Xbox and its main rivals, Sony and Nintendo, incorporate into their console controllers. In fact, this review should highlight just how far we have come in a very short space of time. However, there are many gamers that will still argue that the Xbox controller S is the best controller that has ever been released. It changed gaming, gave gamers real control and got millions around the world hooked to games like Halo and FIFA. If you still have a first generation Xbox then just enjoy it!
